Flavours and Knowledge of the Territory

Every territory has a place where stories meet.
The Fondaco di Opi was created for this reason: to preserve flavours, knowledge and relationships, transforming the travel experience into something deeper and more meaningful.

Here, you do not simply buy something.
You listen.

The Fondaco di Opi is a local shop conceived as a natural extension of the stay experience at La Pieja di Opi. In the project materials it is described as “the shop of flavours and knowledge”, with a clear purpose: to highlight local products, producers, craftsmanship and the culture of the territory, creating a tangible connection between hospitality and the local economy.

It is located in the village of Opi, in the heart of the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park., and is designed as a meeting point between those who produce and those who travel. For this reason, the Fondaco is not simply a shop window. It is a place that gives shape to a broader idea of experience — discovering a territory through what you taste, observe and take with you.

A product truly tells the story of a place only when someone knows the story behind it.

01

Local products and traditional craftsmanship

Inside the Fondaco di Opi , you will find products that represent the gastronomic and artisanal identity of Abruzzo. According to the project concept, the selection focuses on local excellence chosen not only for commercial value, but above all for the connection with producers and the territory.

The value lies not only in what you buy, but in the story that product carries with it.

02

Tastings and encounters

The Fondaco di Opi is also a place for tastings and meetings. In the project materials it is described as a space that can host tasting moments, storytelling by producers and small opportunities for deeper exploration, transforming products into experiences and consumption into knowledge.

03

A project that supports the territory

The Fondaco was created with a clear objective: building a bridge between hospitality and the local economy. This vision is consistent with the overall project of the site, which does not present La Pieja as a simple accommodation, but as an experience that connects village life, nature, cuisine, producers and local communities.

Supporting a territory also means choosing how to tell its story, how to present it and how to share it.

04

From the stay to the memory

For guests staying at La Pieja di Opi, the Fondaco represents a natural continuation of the experience. After exploring the village, discovering the cuisine, walking through nature and feeling the rhythm of the Park, here it is possible to rediscover some of the flavours and stories encountered during the stay.

Taking something from the territory with you does not mean bringing home an object. It means carrying a piece of the experience.
